Natasha Poonawalla's saree with bustier and ornate jewels added a touch of Indian beauty to the Met Gala 2022 red carpet. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, a well-known Indian fashion designer, made her golden six yards and diamonds, while the Schiaparelli fashion firm made the bustier. Thanks to the fusion of Indian culture with the renowned Italian design firm and the American-inspired theme, Natasha was among the best-dressed celebs of the biggest night in fashion. The photographs were uploaded on Natasha's Instagram page, where she said that the contrasts between the world's fast progress and how people treat women and the defenceless served as a gilded cage for her inspiration.
Natasha decided on a floor-length tulle saree with a custom, handmade gold pattern. It was stitched with silk floss thread and embellished with “bevel beads, semi-precious stones, crystals, sequins, and appliquéd printed velvet”. She paired the six yards with a strapless shirt with a sweetheart collar and similar embroidery.
Natasha wore the saree with a Schiaparelli bustier made of hand-forged metal with enormous wires that reached over her head. She also wore unique jewellery created by Sabyasachi, such as a headpiece, earrings, statement rings, bangles, sunglasses, and sunglasses with diamonds. They are limited edition collectibles from Sabyasachi's fine jewellery line and the Curiosity Art and Antiquity Project.
Last but not least, Natasha added Christian Louboutin shoes, a sleek open haircut, a nude blush pink lip colour, embellished nails, a bold winged eyeliner, metallic eye makeup, and flushed skin to her Met Gala ensemble.
