Gujarat Titans qualify for the playoffs in the IPL 2023 Points Table after GT vs SRH, Match 62; Faf Du Plessis wears an orange cap while Mohammed Shami leads with a purple cap

Shubman Gill scored his first IPL century on Monday, helping Gujarat Titans defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by a margin of 34 runs to become the first club to guarantee a spot in the play-offs of the current season.
Despite a late revival by Sunrisers Hyderabad's Bhuvneshwar Kumar (5/30), Gill hammered 101 runs off only 58 balls, including 13 fours and one six, and combined 147 runs for the second wicket with Sai Sudharsan (47 off 36 balls). This helped GT reach 188 for nine.
With the bat, SRH was never in contention as they often lost wickets, limiting them to 154 for nine.
For SRH, Heinrich Klaasen (66 off 44) was the lone contributor, while Mohit Sharma (4/28) and Mohammed Shami (4/21) shone with the ball for GT, each taking four wickets.

The orange hat is now worn by Faf du Plessis. The captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore has so far amassed 631 runs overall in 12 games at an average of 57.36. Shubman Gill of the Rajasthan Royals is in second place with 576 runs in 13 games and an average of 48. DYashasvi Jaiswal of the Rajasthan Royals is in third place with 575 runs in 13 games and a 47.92 average.
Mohammed Shami of the Gujarat Titans is at the top of the purple cap list for most wickets with 23 in 13 games and an economy of 7.54. Rashid Khan of the Gujarat Titans is in second position with 23 wickets in 13 games and an economy of 7.96. Yuzvendra Chahal of the Rajasthan Royals is in third place with 21 wickets in 13 games and an economy of 8.02.
